The Dryland Critical Zone Collaborative Network (https://www.drylandcz.org/), based at the University of Texas at El Paso, is seeking a field and data technician. The work will involve a mix of visiting local field sites in the area (Texas and New Mexico), maintaining sensors, downloading and processing data, developing infrastructure and measurement systems in the lab, running laboratory sample analyses, and potentially travel to some of our partner sites in, for example, Idaho.
Ideal qualifications would include:\
-M.S. in ecology, geology, environmental science, or related
-experience in lab work, field work, data processing
-computer and programming skills
-handywork (basic tool usage; experience working with wiring/electrical or tubing/plumbing is a plus)
-possibility to work in the job for at least 2 years
-American driver’s license for at least 3 years (needed to drive university vehicles)
